Separate chapters on organic farming, bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides used for sustainable cultivation of medicinal plants, tips for medicinal plants cultivation and multi-tier agriculture systems of medicinal plants have been presented. The book also includes complete addresses (including E-mail addresses) of research institutes and agencies, NGOs, importers and exporters, traders and commission agents, growers, seeds and planting materials suppliers, medicinal gardens, books, analytical testing facilities, market news services, important web sites of the world. Glossary of various terms used and common names of medicinal plants in different languages have been appended.

About the author's

1. Narayan Das Prajapati (b. Oct., 1950) is a well known medicinal plant grower at large scale in India. He has initiated cultivation and promotion of medicinal plants by providing training to farmers, traders and research organizations by organizing training camps and providing literature. He is a visiting faculty in various universities and research institutions. Presently, he is the farmer member of National Medicinal Plants Board, Department of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

2. Dr. S. S. Purohit (b. July, 1948) obtained M. Sc. (Gold Medal) and Ph. D. from Udaipur University, Udaipur. He was visiting guest scientist in various foreign universities. He has 30 years of reaching experience of UG and PG students, specially Plant Physiology. He has guided 12 M. Phil and 4 Ph. D. students. He is well known writer and written about 30 books and 125 articles on various subjects of Botany. He left teaching in 2000 and joined Agrobios (India). Presently, he is the Managing Director of Agrobios (India) and Editor, Agrobios News Letter.

3. Arun K. Sharma is a graduate from G. B. pant University of Agric. & Tech., Pantnagar and presently working as Scientist at Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur. He has worked on rainwater conservation and development of self-sustainable farming systems for the drylands. He has written two internationally known books namely A Handbook of Organic Farming and Biofertilizers for Sustainable Agriculture.

4. Tarun Kumar (b. June 1980) with his bright carrier did B. Sc. (J. N. Vyas University, Jodhpur) and M. Sc. (Medicinal plants) from Gujarat Ayurvedic University, Jamnagar. He is a guest faculty member of various institutions. He has written more than 50 general and scientific articles on Medicinal Plants. He has participated in several National/International conferences.
