Trainee Marketing and Business Development
The Institute for Marketecology (IMO) is an internationally operating agency for quality control and certification of sustainable and fair products in the food and non-food sector according to approved public or private standards (organic, aquaculture, textiles, forestry, fair trade and others). IMO certifies clients in about 90 countries with 400 experts worldwide; the IMO head-office is in Switzerland with further offices around the world. Our services include Food Safety, Traceability and cooperation with development agencies.

Marketing and Business Development
We are looking for a trainee for our head-office in Germany/Switzerland. The job is suitable for graduated economists, agronomists and others, who wish to gain insight into sustainable certification and consultancy business and international cooperation.
Your tasks will include:
- Marketing and business development activities international
- Developing Strategies to win new customers, prepare and attend Fairs
- Project Management regarding Financial issues and others
- Reporting directly to, and close cooperation with the CEO
Essential requirements:
- Graduation in economy, agronomy or related fields.
- Cross-cultural competence
- Strong writing skills, fluent communication in English and German.
- Demonstrably at ease using personal computer (MS office: access, word, excel, outlook, power point)
- Structured way to organize work.
Desired optional requirements:
- Knowledge of further languages is an asset, in particular Spanish or Chinese.
We offer
You will gain insight into standards for sustainability, social accountability and fair-trade as well as an insight into certification in general and management systems. You will be in contact with colleagues and clients around the globe. The position is intended for 100 % with flexible working hours (annual working-time), starting immediately or depending upon agreement. Initially the position will be limited to the 12 months trainee-period, strongly intended in resulting in a permanent position afterwards. You will participate in a industry-wide postgraduate vocational program (including networking, soft skills, project management etc.) with 25 Trainees in other sustainable companies in Central Europe (http://www.soel.de/bildung/traineeprogramm/hsa.html). IMO is known for its friendly atmosphere and inspiring working environment. Konstanz is located at Lake Constance, Weinfelden is located north of Zürich and Winterthur and 20 km south of Konstanz which is just across the German border.
